JENNIFER SLAY


Jennifer has been a registered Social Worker in the city of London for the last 22 years. In addition, she is a dynamic motivational speaker, certified life coach, therapist and Anti-Racism educator having earned an Honors Bachelor degree in Anthropology and Social Work and a Master’s degree in Social Work. She believes in continued education and became a Certified DISC trainer (behavioral assessment tool to support people in improved communication and leadership), is a Master Speech Coach, an EMDR therapist and has several certificates in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Neurolinguistics.


Jennifer was chosen as one of the recipients of the Queen Elizabeth the II Diamond Jubilee medal in 2013 for her community work, was chosen as one of Canada’s women of confidence in the national publication, Chatelaine magazine and is an award winning co-executive producer of the T.V. show – Melanated View


Growing up in a small mining town in Northern Manitoba, Jen always knew that she wanted to help people. In 2003 she graduated from high school and moved to London, Ontario to pursue her post-secondary education. She has since made London her home. Much of Jen’s career has been in Child Protective Services in both the front line and management sectors. She also spent three years on a provincial project to help keep Ontario’s children safer.


As mentioned, Jen has been a very active member in her community having served on several committees and boards. Currently, she is proud to sit on the Board of the Forest City Kiwanis Club; the Congress of Black Women London Chapter, and The Grand Theatre.

Jennifer has a love of writing. She is a published author of Finesse Your Life the book and journal (available on Amazon), she is also a best selling author having written in the book entitled Dreaming Big, Being Bold. You can find a number of Jen’s writings in various online magazines and blogs as well. 


Jen’s love of teaching and mentoring led her to be a part of the faculty at Fanshawe College.


Jennifer is an award winning speaker having won several speech contests through Toastmasters for both evaluation and presentation.


Jennifer is most proud of her signature programs – Slay Your Inner Critic – co-led and created by her amazing team – Tanya Reynolds, Shirley Brooks and Carlos Camryn. Together they support people to empower themselves, move past stuck and make their dreams a reality. Not a cliché – a true statement!


For fun, Jennifer loves to spend time reading, dancing, singing, playing her piano and travelling. She especially loves simply hanging out with her friends and family talking well into the night. Her favorite thing to do is to cuddle and watch movies.


Jennifer has an undying belief in the human spirit. She has successfully combined her education and experiences to create workshops, online programs and various speeches that pull the best from her clients and audience to support them to overcome their fears and experience ultimate personal success. She firmly believes that to whom much is given, much is required and is prepared to always share and grow with others.
