Developing a growth mindset is simple but not always easy. We all tend to be able to do something new for a short period of time, however, it is the consistency, and determination to persevere that we have to adopt into our daily lives (that’s another blog). To date, we have gone over 5 growth mindset hacks to support you in successfully creating or developing your growth mindset. Let’s review:
Hack #6 – Visualize. Visualizing what you want is more than just “seeing” it. You have to use all of your senses to make it as real as you possibly can.
The way our brains work is that when we have a thought or a belief and we think it repeatedly or speak it out loud, our brains will look for opportunities to make it happen and prove you right. That’s why is it so very important to watch what you say and think after these two words “I am…” You want to speak success and good fortune into your life right? Watch what you say!
But today, we are talking about visualization. True visualization is getting more than one of your senses involved in the thought or belief. Eyes: what do you see when you have accomplished your goal? Who are the people around you? Touch: What are you doing? What are the feelings you are having – joy? excitement? Ears: What conversation are you having with yourself? What are people saying to you? Taste: What does success taste like? Is it sweet? (I know – I’m reaching here – lol). Nose: I guess it really depends on what your goal is to figure out what you are smelling. THE POINT IS – bring in as much sensory emotions as you can to make the feeling of goal achievement a success. Trick your brain into believing you are open minded, that you are achieving your goals, that you are moving forward! If you believe it to be true, the brain will look for opportunites (subconsciously) to make it a reality. Don’t believe me? Try it. Let me know how it goes. I believe so much that you can do this that I will be looking to celebrate with you at the top! You got this!
- Spend at least 1 minute per day – 1 FULL MINUTE – visualizing what it is you want. Remember, bring in all of the senses. Try this first thing in the morning before you start your day. Make it part of your meditation. You will be glad you did.
