Hack #2 – once the decision is made regarding what you want out of life, it’s now time to set the goals in order to create the plan to achieve them. How do you make these goals? Make them S.M.A.R.T. – Specific; Measurable; Attainable; Realistic; and Timely.
Setting goals allows you to create long-term vision and short-term motivation. When you set a goal, it allows you to focus on the knowledge you acquire, and organize your time and your resources so that you can make the most out of your life. I read that goals are what take us forward in life; they are the oxygen to our dreams.
Brian Tracy, a well known Canadian-American motivational speaker and self-development author has stated that “The ability to concentrate single-mindedly on your most important task, to do it well and to finish it completely, is the key to great success, achievemnt, respect, status, and happiness in life.”
Only 3% of adults have clear, written goals. It is this 3% that accomplish five and ten times as much as people of equal or better education and ability but who have never taken the time to write out exactly what they want.
Set goals, write them out and make them S.M.A.R.T.

#2. Set aside 1hr to reflect on what you want to accomplish over the next 12 months. Choose 1-3 main goals. Be specific – exactly what is it you want? Make it measurable – how will you know you accomplished it? Make it achievable – is it attainable? What resources do you need to support you? Make it realistic – don’t worry if it feels out of reach, realistically could you do this? Make it timely – When will this be done?
