On the eve of International Women’s Day I want to personally say thank you to all of the women who made sacrifices so that I have the opportunity to be considered a person.
The women who made sacrifices so that I have the opportunity to be able to compete for the same jobs as a man.
The women who made sacrifices so that I am able to have the opportunity to have the basic right to learn to read and write.
And also the women who made sacrifices so that I can be here to write and share my thoughts from this blog.
I do not take these opportunities for granted and will use my platform to encourage, and uplift all those who come across it.
In addition, I do not forget my sisters who continue to be discriminated against, who continue to be treated poorly, and who continue to be raped, beaten, and forgotten. I remember you in my prayers and I continue the fight in the ways I know how – through awareness. Please visit internationalwomensday.com to see how you can celebrate International Women’s Day.
